27th June 2025: Season Review
After a couple of years under siege, the Mens first team enjoyed a more successful year, at times dizzyingly sitting top of the league before finishing respectably in the top half of the table. Highlights certainly included a comprehensive local derby victory, some accomplished performances by junior players stepping up. Perhaps a strong indicator of improvement was the number of narrow, hard fought victories, the kind of results that previously Acomb have found themselves on the reverse, losing end of.. A new-look Mens second team, with an engine room of juniors and…ahem…seniors, likewise performed fantastically against an ever-increasing standard of opposition in Moor League 1.
The Ladies were allotted a tough league, but as always did the club immense credit with some fantastic results, assembling of teams in spite of availability and distance difficulties, and also welcomed a good clutch of new players. All positive signs for 25/26.
Mens 1s Player of the year was Neil Hutchins. 2s Player of the Year was Oscar Bell. Mens Top Scorer was Jonny Brown. Credit also to Callum Richardson as Young Player of the Year, Isaac Roberton as Most Improved Player of the Year, and all other awards winners.
